Monday-Friday A to Z Management Consulting is seeking experienced Phlebotomy Technicians to support healthcare operations at Naval Medical Center San Diego and associated clinics. This is a full-time, on-site position supporting a diverse patient population in a fast-paced military healthcare environment. Schedule Services are provided Monday through Friday between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM . Shifts may be scheduled for 8.5, 9.5, 10.5, or 11 hours , including an unpaid 30- or 60-minute meal break. Employees assigned to a regularly scheduled alternative workweek will not work more than 10 hours in a day within a 40-hour workweek . Employees will not be scheduled for more than 80 hours in a two-week period . Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Completion of an approved phlebotomy training program recognized by the applicable certifying body Current Phlebotomy Technician certification and registration from one of the following: American Society for Clinical Pathology — PBT (ASCP) American Medical Technologists — RPT (AMT) American Certification Agency — CPT (ACA) American Medical Certification Association — PTC (AMCA) National Center for Competency Testing — NCPT (NCCT/MMCI) National Healthcareer Association — CPT (NHA) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Duties and Responsibilities Collect blood specimens from patients in accordance with established procedures Properly identify patients prior to specimen collection Accurately label specimens with required patient information and collection details Determine the appropriate blood collection method based on the patient and ordered testing Transport specimens to the appropriate laboratory Centrifuge blood specimens when permitted and required Work with patients of varying ages and medical conditions Follow infection-control procedures and Personal Protective Equipment requirements Complete required standardized training and demonstrate competency for assigned duties Perform only those duties for which documented training and competency have been completed Provide instruction and training when designated as a Preceptor or Instructor Perform other related duties as assigned Why Join Us This position offers the opportunity to support an important military healthcare mission while working alongside experienced clinical professionals at Naval Medical Center San Diego.
