Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and experienced Per Diem Home Health Phlebotomist to provide professional in-home blood collection and specimen services to patients throughout San Jose / Bay Area. This is a per diem position with no guaranteed hours. Assignments are offered based on patient needs, geographic availability, and business demand. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, traveling to patient homes, performing venipuncture, and providing excellent patient care. Duties Travel to patients' homes to perform blood draws and approved specimen collections. Verify patient identity and laboratory orders before collection. Perform venipuncture and skin puncture within the scope of California certification. Properly label, handle, package, and transport specimens according to laboratory requirements. Follow infection-control, safety, sharps-disposal, and specimen-handling procedures. Provide a professional and compassionate experience for patients and caregivers. Complete accurate patient and specimen documentation. Maintain patient confidentiality. Communicate professionally with patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, laboratories, and the scheduling team. Report unsuccessful collections, specimen problems, incidents, or other concerns promptly. Maintain required phlebotomy supplies and equipment. Accept assignments based on availability and service needs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Current California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I) certificate or higher, as applicable to the duties performed. Demonstrated competency in venipuncture. Previous phlebotomy experience preferred. Excellent communication and patient-service skills. Ability to work independently during home visits. Reliable transportation. Valid driver's license. Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area. Ability to safely handle specimens, sharps, and medical supplies. Must meet applicable company, laboratory, and regulatory requirements. Please Note:
This is a per diem position. Compensation ranges from $40-$50 per completed home visit/blood draw, depending on the type and complexity of the assignment.
