F Job Summary:
In this position as Mechanic, you will be responsible for the daily maintenance, inspections, and repair of fleet and equipment; daily work orders; and compliance with
SCL, CHP, and DOT Regulations Essential Job Duties:
Conduct routine maintenance on fleet and equipment including, oil changes, filter replacements, and checks. This will include 90-day inspections and services, annual inspections, and SCL annual maintenance programs. Diagnose and trouble shoot drivetrain and electrical components using diagnostic tools and software. Maintain open communication with fleet manager and drivers. Working to resolve fleet issues. Manage time appropriately whether unsupervised or working as a team to make sure all repairs and maintenance is complete in a timely manner with minimal down time. Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed daily. Maintain a clean work area and service truck. Ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently, following all safety protocols and procedures. Develop knowledge of pumping and metering systems Travel between locations to perform inspections, maintenance, and repair. Complete on the road breakdown repairs

Other Duties:
Pick up parts and return cores. Further education on new equipment being developed. Ensure cleanliness of shop and service truck Perform repairs on equipment such as pumps, forklifts, and pallet jacks Communicate fleet and or driver needs / requirements to management Ensure a safe and inclusive environment Keep track of parts and miscellaneous shop supplies used for billing and reorder Work with management to determine operational needs to optimize fleet
Experience & Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. At least 2-3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or trade school equivalent. strong attention to detail and problem solving skills Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Fluent in English (written and oral). Must have a valid Driver's License and a good driving record. Ability to lift heavy equipment and parts as needed Must be able to function independently
Computer & Software Skills:
Must have knowledge or willingness to learn diagnostic software programs and a basic understanding of computers.

Travel:
frequent local travel (100 Mile Radius) and offsite training seminars. Must have a valid California Driver's License, driving record must meet the companies insurer's criteria; will be provided service truck.

Work Environment & Exposures:
This predominant work environment for this position is an office setting. The position may require occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, vibration and loud noise levels. Will be exposed to varying weather conditions, soil, pollen, grass and plant materials and fertilizer while working; will be exposed to cleaning solutions of home strength; may be exposed to industrial strength solutions for pest control, paints, solvents, chemicals, flammables and other hazardous materials.
