Job Description

Private Specialty physician office is seeking a compassionate, professional and dependable team player to join our group. Experienced medical receptionist / medical assistant with strong administrative and clinical skills needed to provide exceptional patient care. Candidate MUST possess pleasant and professional customer service with strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Front desk receptionist plays a crucial role by providing the first line of customer service for the office and entire organization.
  • Duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to) Answer phone calls, address patient concerns and or redirect calls appropriately Maintains reception area while ensuring all patients are greeted and check in/out in an accurate and timely manner Upon check in, verify all patient demographics and insurance to ensure accuracy, scan all appropriate documents including ID, insurance cards and required forms Check insurance eligibility, collect and post payments Call patients for scheduling recalls, missed appointments Insurance authorizations / referrals for specialty testing and office visits Schedule all outside diagnostic testing Maintain faxing/scanning and all other clerical functions needed for this office Complete daily duties and referrals as appropriate •Additionally, this candidate would provide clinical back up coverage as needed - Strong clinical skills required.
  • Duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to) Record patient data including but not limited to vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and any changes to medications Escort patients to and from exam room, laboratory, and/or treatment room as needed Assist physician with bone marrow biopsy procedure Maintain room cleanliness/sanitization throughout the day and before closing and ensure exam rooms are stocked Act as a back-up phlebotomist in our in-house lab when needed
Requirements:

Strong administrative and clinical skills Must be professional and know how to effectively communicate At least 1 year of medical assistant experience and recent phlebotomy experience preferred Ability to perform in an office and clinical setting Must be able to perform and multi-task in a fast paced environment Attention to detail and critical thinking required
