Duties Collect blood samples using venipuncture and capillary techniques, ensuring patient comfort and safety Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing, following aseptic techniques and specimen handling protocols Assist with patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and providing reassurance, especially for pediatric and geriatric patients Enter data into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems with high accuracy and attention to detail Process specimens promptly, ensuring proper storage, transportation, and documentation in compliance with laboratory standards Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control practices and safety guidelines such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certifications Support laboratory staff by performing routine tasks related to specimen collection, processing, and documentation Skills Proficiency in laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen handling within a clinical setting Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and laboratory science principles Hands-on experience with venipuncture, blood sampling, and phlebotomy equipment management Excellent patient service skills with the ability to care for diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics Familiarity with hospital workflows, EMR/EHR systems, data entry accuracy, and specimen processing protocols Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and maintain physical stamina during long shifts Knowledge of aseptic technique, vital signs measurement, and blood collection best practices Embark on a rewarding career path where your skills directly impact patient outcomes.
