Responsibilities Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures and safety standards. Explain procedures to patients to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence. Maintain accurate records and documentation of collected specimens and patient interactions. Follow protocols for specimen collection, handling, and processing to ensure specimen integrity. Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment in the patient testing area. Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality while interacting with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals. Perform duties independently with minimal supervision, adhering to deadlines and quality standards. Required Skills Ability to collect high-quality, error-free blood specimens in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in phlebotomy techniques, including pediatric and geriatric collections. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Keyboard and data entry experience. Additional Skills & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington. Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over one year preferred. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
