The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist assists the physician as they assess, examine and treat patients. Responsibilities include patient flow management and various diagnostic procedures, such as EKG, phlebotomy, injections and vitals. Acts as liaison to physician to ensure patient satisfaction. Maintains supplies for areas as needed. Responsibilities Performs and documents vital signs and medical history information Organize and schedule appointments Prepare patients for examinations and procedures Perform venipuncture and collect laboratory specimens Assist provider with patient care Perform EKGs and other clinical procedures, as needed Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and office safety protocols Provide compassionate and professional patient care Skills Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary Phlebotomy and specimen collection experience Knowledge of EHR/EMR systems preferred Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work Strong attention to detail and organization Excellent patient care and customer service skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Degree or certification in medical assisting
