This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment dedicated to improving health outcomes. You will utilize your laboratory procedures knowledge, patient service skills, and attention to detail to support diagnostic testing and medical laboratory work. Your energetic approach and commitment to quality will help us deliver exceptional care to diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and hospital inpatients. Duties Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Collect, label, process, and transport specimens accurately following laboratory procedures and specimen collection guidelines. Verify patient identity using proper identification methods and ensure comfort during specimen collection. Maintain detailed records of blood sampling, vital signs, and patient information within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive experience. Handle specimens carefully during collection and transportation, ensuring proper storage and handling for laboratory analysis. Support laboratory operations by assisting with data entry, specimen processing, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas. Qualifications Proven experience in medical laboratory work or clinical laboratory settings with knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures. Certification or training in phlebotomy, including venipuncture (blood sampling), capillary puncture, and specimen handling. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and laboratory safety standards such as aseptic technique. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to transport supplies or specimens safely. Knowledge of vital signs measurement (blood pressure, pulse), CPR/BLS certification (Basic Life Support), and hospital experience preferred. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for data entry and specimen documentation. Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care across diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics.
