Responsibilities
  • Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established safety and procedural guidelines
  • Prepare specimens accurately for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and documentation
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment adhering to best infection control practices
  • Record and document patient information and specimen details accurately in accordance with protocols
  • Interact with patients to explain procedures, foster trust, and ensure a positive experience during specimen collection
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy in specimen processing Required Skills
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy, with the ability to draw blood samples accurately and safely
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for record keeping and documentation
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment
  • Keyboard and data entry experience for accurate specimen tracking and record management Additional Skills & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Phlebotomy certification is preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training is preferred but not mandatory
  • A minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience is required; one or more years is preferred
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime based on staffing needs
