Part-Time | Weekend Days As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care by collecting and processing laboratory specimens accurately and efficiently. You will serve as a key point of contact for patients, ensuring a positive experience while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer service. In this role, you will: Collect blood, urine, and other body fluid specimens according to established protocols. Positively identify patients and specimens to ensure accuracy and patient safety. Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing in a timely and accurate manner. Perform phlebotomy procedures with a high level of skill, professionalism, and patient care. Greet and assist patients while providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming environment. Prioritize specimen collection and processing based on patient needs, physician orders, and urgent situations. Demonstrate accuracy and composure during crisis and emergent situations. Assist with laboratory clerical functions, cleaning tasks, and routine operational duties. Communicate effectively with laboratory personnel, nursing staff, providers, and other departments regarding patient and specimen needs. Promote a positive team environment through collaboration, professionalism, and effective communication. Perform Chain of Custody (COC) collections according to protocol, if certified. Assist in maintaining adequate inventory levels and stocking laboratory supplies. Participate in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives. Maintain competency requirements and participate in continuing education opportunities. Support laboratory operations through additional duties as assigned.
