Position Responsibilities:
Duties to include: Assists registered nurses and/or LIP's in the delivery of patient care, with regard to patient condition and age. Performs patient care in compliance with the Iowa Department of Public Health Paramedic Scope of Practice related to: a. Maintaining Airway/Breathing i. Airway (manual, nasal, oral, multi-lumen, esophageal/tracheal) ii. BiPAP, CPAP iii. Bridge Airway Devices iv. Capnography/ETCO2 (End-Tidal Carbon Dioxide) v. Chest Tube Monitoring vi. Endotracheal Intubation (nasal/oral) vii. Cricothyrotomy- percutaneous viii. Gastric Decompression (nasogastric or orogastric tube) ix. Needle Chest Decompression x. PEEP (Positive End-Expiratory Pressure)
