Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, obtains and prepares blood specimens for laboratory testing; performs laboratory analysis in accordance with established criteria and guidelines.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.Licensure/certification:
Phlebotomist certification preferred.Previous Work Experience:
Previous phlebotomy education or experience preferred. Previous laboratory assistant experience preferred.Skills:
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English with people from diverse professional, educational and lifestyle backgrounds both orally and in writing. Ability to read and understand/follow written and verbal directions. Requires organizational and self motivational skills in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks. Must demonstrate ability to utilize effective decision-making and problem solving techniques. Ability to work independently and interdependently with the health care team. Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations and focused amid interruptions in a potentially fast paced environment.Shift:
