Job Overview We are in need of someone to job share with our current medical assistant. This could be as little as two days per week, but you may be asked to fill in while she is on vacation, therefore it could be five days per week on occasion. You would be rooming patients, taking vitals, drawing blood, doing ekgs, urinalyses, etc. We are a very small office with amazing patients, and we take great care of them. Duties Collect blood samples via venipuncture and capillary puncture, ensuring proper technique and specimen handling Prepare and process laboratory specimens accurately for testing, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to monitor patient health status Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures, patient examinations, and medical documentation Maintain detailed records of laboratory work, specimen collection, and patient interactions using EMR/EHR systems Provide compassionate patient service by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and supporting diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics Ensure compliance with laboratory procedures, safety standards, and infection control protocols at all times Scheduling referral appointments, CT scans, MRIs, etc. Prior-authorization of our patients' medications and scans. Requirements Proven experience in laboratory procedures and techniques within a clinical or hospital setting Hands-on experience with venipuncture (blood sampling), specimen collection/processing, and phlebotomy techniques Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for data entry and patient record management Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care across all age groups including pediatrics and geriatrics

Pay:

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 40.0 per week
