Our staff is composed of a team specially trained in emergency, family, or urgent care medicine, and includes nurse practitioners, physician assistants, radiology technicians and certified medical assistants under the supervision and direction of two medical directors (Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine).
Job Summary:
To provide patient care by assisting the urgent care staff in the delivery of excellent and timely healthcare as well as performing other duties related to patients' assessment, treatment, re-evaluation, and discharge.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Patient Care. Take patient history and vital signs. Prepare patient for examination and treatment. Apply splints and dressings, prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments including sterilization. Assist physician sin preparing for minor surgeries and physicals. Perform phlebotomy and distributive laboratory paperwork. Dispense medication as directed. Instruct and educate patients about discharge instructions if applicable. Perform selected nursing and administrative duties as directed. Disinfect working areas and patient rooms. Provide solutions to patient concerns within the scope of position. Clerical. Provide accurate and timely documentation to staff, insurance carriers and companies Handle telephone calls from clients, patients, prospective patients, physicians, pharmacies, insurance providers as well as handle follow up. Maintain patient records for clinical use, medical records use, billing use, physician's review, etc. Log and mark charges on superbills per billing office protocols. Document patient files, records, forms and other info. Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment Complete opening and closing procedures Be sure work areas appear neat, well stocked and organized. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills Minimum high school degree or equivalent 1-3+ years of clinical patient care experience in a hospital / LTAC setting, highly desirable Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals required Spanish/Russian language skills highly desirable.
