Encompass Medical Group is a 50-independent physician provider group, the largest in greater Kansas City, and is dedicated to only the highest standards of healthcare excellence as exemplified in all nine of our offices located throughout the Kansas City metro area. Encompass Medical Group is currently recruiting for a Certified Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant position within our Hickman Mills officeclinic location. This a full time position. Under technical supervision performs limited laboratory procedures requiring technical skills and independent judgment in urinalysis, hematology and chemistry. We are seeking a talented individual that is patient centered and provides excellent customer service. We hope you will consider joining our dynamic team. Collects appropriate specimens for lab testing according to lab protocols and state and federal regulatory agencies. Prepares and processes blood and body fluids as required prior to transporting. Verifies and identifies patient by name and date of birth. Properly labels all specimen containers with correct patient information. Enters data in the computerized lab system for processing. Maintains data and requisitions in an organized manner as directed. Maintains confidentiality of all patient information. Performs "stat" automated CBC testing upon successful completion of in-house training. Assists with special projects as requested. Calls patient due to missing samples, and notifies provider of improper collection methods as needed. Prepares specimens and operates automated analyzers, performs manual tests in accordance with detailed instructions. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. Exposure to reagents, chlorine bleach, blood, body fluids and airborne particles. Some lifting, standing, moving supplies, bending and holding patients may be required. This position may require travel to other Encompass Medical Group clinics. We hope you will consider joining our dynamic team.
