Job Description
Part-Time Certified Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist Blue Ridge Weight & Wellness Waynesville, NC Tuesday-Thursday, 7:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Approximately 15 hours per week Pay negotiable based on experience About Us At Blue Ridge Weight & Wellness, we believe true health is about more than a number on the scale. We are a medical weight-management and wellness practice dedicated to helping patients achieve sustainable, lifelong health through personalized medical care, nutrition, education, and compassionate support. We are looking for an empathetic, organized, and energetic Certified Medical Assistant with excellent phlebotomy skills to join our close-knit team. What You'll Do As an important member of our patient-care team, you will combine strong clinical skills with a warm, encouraging patient experience. Perform accurate, comfortable blood draws, including difficult sticks Verify laboratory orders and patient information before collection Label, centrifuge, process, and prepare specimens correctly for shipment or pickup Greet and room patients Accurately obtain and document vital signs, weight, and body-composition measurements Assist providers during examinations and procedures Administer injections as directed by the physician and within your scope of practice Assist with prescription-refill requests and prior-authorization documentation as assigned Answer appropriate basic patient questions and communicate clinical concerns to the provider Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked examination and laboratory areas Monitor laboratory and clinical supplies and communicate inventory needs Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and bloodborne-pathogen requirements Help create a welcoming, respectful, and judgment-free experience for every patient What We're Looking For Current Medical Assistant certification, such as CMA, RMA, or CCMA Strong, proven phlebotomy skills At least one year of clinical experience preferred Confidence working with difficult blood draws Knowledge of specimen collection, tube selection, processing, handling, and shipping Comfortable navigating electronic health records and learning new technology Excellent communication and organizational skills Dependable, punctual, and attentive to detail Able to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team Warm, upbeat, professional, and respectful in all patient interactions Experience in metabolic health, endocrinology, hormone health, or medical weight management is a plus
Schedule and Compensation Part-time:
