Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples and other specimens from patients with precision and care, ensuring accurate laboratory testing and patient safety. Your expertise in laboratory procedures, patient service, and specimen handling will contribute directly to the quality of care we provide. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment where your skills make a real difference in patient outcomes. Duties Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling using aseptic techniques to ensure specimen integrity Collect, label, and process specimens accurately according to established protocols Verify patient identity and explain procedures to ensure comfort and cooperation during specimen collection Maintain detailed records of specimen collection, processing, and patient interactions within electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems Monitor vital signs and assess patient condition during procedures, providing basic life support (CPR) if necessary Handle specimens carefully, ensuring proper storage, transportation, and documentation for laboratory testing Follow laboratory safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to infection control protocols Experience Prior experience in a medical laboratory setting or clinical environment is highly preferred Knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and specimen handling is essential Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture, blood sampling, and phlebotomy techniques Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatrics Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for data entry and documentation Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required or preferred Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical laboratory practices Join us to become a vital part of a compassionate healthcare team committed to delivering exceptional patient care through precise specimen collection and laboratory excellence.
