Receptionist / Phlebotomy Technician Vital Strength Internal Medicine — Columbia, SC Vital Strength Internal Medicine is a new independent internal medicine practice focused on preventive medicine, fitness-oriented care, comprehensive primary care, chronic disease management, and personalized care for women and men. We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and organized Receptionist/Phlebotomy Technician to join our growing practice. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both patient-facing administrative work and hands-on clinical responsibilities. Position Responsibilities Front Office / Reception
- Greet patients warmly and provide an exceptional patient experience as the first point of contact
- Demonstrate patience and tolerance when assisting patients who may require extra support or may not be feeling well
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist patients with questions; 24-hour backup phone coverage will be available when the office is busy
- Check patients in and out, verify demographic and insurance information, and collect patient payments
- Assist with referrals, medical records, forms, and other administrative tasks
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
- Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements Phlebotomy
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection accurately and safely
- Collect and properly label specimens
- Prepare specimens for laboratory processing and shipment
- Hand off specimens to the appropriate laboratory or perform CLIA-waived point-of-care testing when time allows; running these tests will not be a primary expectation of the position Qualifications
- Previous phlebotomy experience required, including excellent venipuncture and specimen-collection skills
- Previous medical-office, primary-care, or urgent-care experience preferred
- Comfortable working with patients ranging in age from 18 to 100; the practice will see approximately 18 visits per day
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
- Comfortable balancing front-office responsibilities with clinical duties
- Familiarity with electronic health records preferred; training will be provided
- Knowledge of HIPAA and medical-office procedures preferred What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is warm, professional, dependable, and genuinely enjoys taking care of patients while having fun at work.

The ideal candidate is someone who can confidently move between answering the phone, helping a patient check in, drawing blood, assisting with point-of-care testing, and keeping the office running smoothly. You will work alongside a CMA and RN. All team members will cross-train so that responsibilities are shared and employees can receive adequate time off. Schedule Full-time Monday through Friday, with no weekend requirement expected. The schedule will include one half-day per week.
