Phlebotomist (Healthcare Sciences) Job Responsibilities The Phlebotomist performs venipuncture and capillary puncture on a range of patients. In addition, this position will conduct specimen processing/accessioning, data entry of patient demographic, and CLIA Waive/Point of Care low complexity testing.

Blood Collection:
from adult patients using vacutainer, syringe and butterfly techniques; capillary puncture using heel and fingerstick techniques. May provide in house lab services: UA dips, HA1C, Blood Glucose, Coag levels, Pregnancy, Covid, CBC Machine, etc. Identifies and labels specimens appropriately. Enters accessioned data into the computer. Prepares specimens for send out testing. Inventories supplies and prepares phlebotomy stations to effectively collect blood. Maintains patient confidentiality. Performs related work as required. Knowledge of laboratory techniques to perform blood, urine and stool collection. Knowledge of container and minimum volume requirements for specimen collection. . Skill in labeling and dispersing specimens to appropriate stations. Skill in interacting with patients representing a broad physical and socioeconomic spectrum. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, laboratory staff and medical staff. Assemble equipment such as tourniquet, needles, disposable containers for needles, blood collection devices, gauze, cotton, and alcohol on work tray according to requirements for specified tests or procedures Verify or record identity of patient and donor Phlebotomist (Healthcare Sciences) Job Requirements Successful candidates for the Phlebotomist include: High School Diploma or Equivalent One year of phlebotomy experience Phlebotomy Certification Phlebotomist (Healthcare Sciences) To apply: Please send resume to melissa@alliedsearchpartners.com
