Position Overview:
As a Phlebotomist/Observed Urine Specimen Collector, you will be a key part of the team, ensuring the efficient draws, collection and processing of specimens while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer service. This is a field-based role with responsibilities including onsite phlebotomy, observed specimen collection and processing, couriering of samples, coordination with clients and our Draper-based lab, and providing excellent patient care.
Starting Pay:
$17 - $20 per hour, depending on experience.
Work Schedule:
Monday and Thursdays with hours from 12:30pm- 1:30pm in American Fork for urine collections Wedensdays 11:00am-1:30pm in American Fork for Phlebotomy Mondays-Fridays 2:00pm-6:00pm in Orem for urine collections Possible need for urine collections in West Jordan Part-time position
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct phlebotomy and observed urine specimen collections for patients of all ages. Ensure smooth specimen workflow and timely delivery to meet company needs. Travel between locations for collections, sample processing and couriering. Manage inventory and supplies for your assigned locations. Provide exceptional customer service to clients while maintaining company standards. Uphold quality assurance and show strong independent judgment during specimen collection and processing. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and continuously improve processes. Ensure all processing documentation is complete and reviewed as required. Troubleshoot and resolve collection and processing issues with clients and lab staff. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (including HIPAA) and company policies. Travel locally to assigned location as needed. Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
Qualifications:
Current Certified Phlebotomist Experience:
Experience in specimen collection or related medical field is preferred but not required.
Skills:
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle pressure with professionalism. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt to changing processes and maintain compliance with new procedures. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory information systems is a plus. Intermediate computer skills required.
