GLC Government Services is seeking phlebotomists to work a government contract at a federal correctional facility in Bruceton Mills, WV , a medium-security institution housing adult female and male inmates.

Phlebotomists Pay Rate:
$24.17/hour
Place of Performance:
Health Services Department at the United States Penitentiary (USP), the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI), the Secure Female Facility (SFF), and the Satellite Prison Camp (SPC).
Schedule:
40 hours per week, either five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday (excluding Federal Holidays). Work hours will be scheduled between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break .
REQUIREMENTS
Must possess proof of a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a medical assistant, laboratory assistant, emergency medical technician (EMT), and/or phlebotomist from a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory. Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC). Experience providing healthcare in a correctional setting preferred. Additional professional education and certifications are a plus. Ability to work with inmates from a variety of cultural, regional, racial, and ethnic backgrounds.
JOB DUTIES
Organize, schedule, perform, and process laboratory studies and specimen collections. Prepare, package, and ensure proper transportation of laboratory specimens. Verify that laboratory requests are completed accurately and completely. Ensure healthcare providers are notified of laboratory results in a timely manner. Assist physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, and other clinical staff with patient flow. Perform all procedures while following standard infection control protocols. Assist with patient dismissal and ensure follow-up care instructions are understood. Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure it is functioning properly. Properly store and maintain adequate levels of laboratory supplies in assigned work areas. Ensure instruments and unauthorized items are secured during non-patient care hours. Assist with audits and reviews of medical records. Assist in coordinating with the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and Contract Reference Laboratory CLIA re-certification activities and support the Health Services Administrator (HSA) and Clinical Director with developing and implementing laboratory policies and procedures. Perform a wide array of clerical and administrative support duties. Acquire and maintain knowledge of the Health Services Manual and facility procedures.
