Job Description
Are you passionate about patient care and making a difference with every interaction? Boone Memorial Health is looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team! Every blood draw is more than a procedure—it's an opportunity to provide comfort, reassurance, and quality care to our patients. Essential Functions As a phlebotomist, you'll play a vital role in our laboratory by: Collecting routine, timed, and STAT blood specimens Correctly identifying patients before specimen collection Providing compassionate care to patients of all ages—from newborns to geriatrics Safely transporting specimens following infection prevention guidelines Collecting chain-of-custody specimens when required Answering laboratory phone calls and responding appropriately to patient and staff needs Skills and Competencies Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment Great time management and problem-solving skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills A commitment to patient safety and quality care Qualifications Certification from an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program High School Diploma or GED Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary Equal Employment Opportunity Policy Boone Memorial Health is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
