Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students through consultation and hands-on physical therapy services at a school near Litchfield, CT. This role is tailored for an experienced PT passionate about making a difference in a school environment. The position involves minimal hours each week, ideal for those seeking supplemental work or a position that offers meaningful engagement without a full-time commitment. The primary responsibilities center around providing expert consultation and direct physical therapy services to students at a local high school. As oversight for a PTA is not available, the physical therapist will be working independently in managing care and collaborating with educators as needed to optimize student outcomes.
Key Qualifications:
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) in Connecticut School-based PT experience preferred Skill in assessment, planning, and implementing individualized care for students Confident working autonomously, with strong communication and organizational skills Understanding of IEP processes is a plus Comfort providing consultative support to school staff and students
Role Responsibilities:
Conduct physical therapy assessments for students as needed Develop, implement, and monitor treatment plans tailored to each student's needs Offer consultative services to teachers and school staff to promote accessibility and student participation Maintain accurate documentation and comply with school and state regulations Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families regarding therapy progress Experience the satisfaction of helping students reach their goals in an educational setting, working just a few focused hours each week.
