Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a dedicated Physical Therapist in a vibrant educational environment. Collaborate with educators and staff to enhance the academic and physical development of K-12 students, ensuring every child has access to essential therapies. This full-time position, running ASAP through June 2027, offers the chance to make a significant difference for students across the district.
Key Qualifications:
Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in the state of Connecticut (or eligible for swift reciprocity) Experience working with school-age populations (K-12) preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to a range of student abilities and needs Committed to in-person service delivery throughout the assignment
Core Responsibilities:
Assess, develop, and implement individualized therapy plans for students, in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Deliver direct physical therapy services to students across a districtwide, diverse caseload Support students' access to learning environments by promoting mobility, participation, and independence Monitor and document student progress, adjusting goals and strategies as needed Communicate assessment findings, progress, and strategies to teachers, parents, and other stakeholders Attend IEP meetings and maintain required documentation in compliance with regulations This role is full-time, Monday through Friday, with weekly hours ranging from 32 to 37.5. You'll have the chance to engage with a wide variety of students while partnering closely with caring staff members. Candidates must be available for on-site, in-person work throughout the school year.
