Job Description

Encompass Health in Sarasota, FL seeks a Licensed Physical Therapist to deliver high-quality inpatient rehabilitation services to adults recovering from major illness, injury, or surgery. In this role, you will perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide evidence-based interventions to restore mobility, function, and independence. You'll collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, while educating patients and families for safe discharge. Responsibilities Provide evidence-based physical therapy evaluation and treatment for inpatient rehabilitation patients Develop and update individualized treatment plans and functional goals Collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehab team, including physicians, nurses, OT, SLP, and case managers Educate patients and families on exercises, mobility strategies, and safe discharge plans Document assessments, progress notes, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory and facility standards Participate in quality improvement, clinical programs, and specialty training initiatives Supervise and mentor PTAs and assist in onboarding new clinical staff Ensure compliance with ethical, legal, and safety standards in all clinical activities Required Skills Physical therapy evaluation and treatment planning Orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation techniques Gait training and transfer training Therapeutic exercise and manual therapy Use of assistive devices and DME fitting Clinical documentation and EMR proficiency Patient and family education Interdisciplinary team collaboration Outcome measurement and functional assessments Supervision of PTAs and support staff
