Work Environment This full-time position operates on-site, delivering home health care services directly to patients' residences in the Sanford area. Your typical workweek will encompass Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a stable schedule. You will have the opportunity to experience varied environments as you travel to different homes, meeting our diverse patient population where they feel most comfortable. Key Responsibilities The core duties of the Physical Therapist include:
Assessment and Evaluation:
Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical conditions, determining their needs and establishing a baseline for treatment.Treatment Planning:
Develop individualized treatment plans that address the specific goals and challenges of each patient, leveraging evidence-based techniques.Therapeutic Techniques:
Implement and teach therapeutic exercise techniques, guiding patients in proper form and execution to maximize their recovery efforts.Hands-On Care:
Provide therapeutic interventions, including massage and manual therapy, to stimulate healing and improve mobility.Assistive Devices:
Teach patients to use mobility aids, such as wheelchairs and walkers, and ensure they understand how these tools can enhance their independence.Documentation:
Maintain precise patient records, tracking progress and updating care plans as necessary to reflect changes in condition or goals.Patient and Family Education:
Educate patients and their families about in-home therapeutic exercises and strategies to continue progress outside of therapy sessions.Diagnosis and Treatment Development:
Utilize your expertise to diagnose movement dysfunctions and adapt treatment strategies based on ongoing assessments. Patient Population / Client Focus Our patients typically include individuals of various ages and backgrounds, often facing challenges due to orthopedic injuries, chronic pain, post-surgical rehabilitation, or neurological conditions. As a Physical Therapist at North West Physiotherapy, you will be instrumental in supporting these individuals as they navigate their recovery journeys, providing not just physical support, but also emotional encouragement and motivation. Qualifications Candidates should possess the following qualifications: An active Physical Therapy license in the state of Florida. A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or an equivalent qualification. Demonstrated ability to establish rapport with patients and effectively communicate complex treatment concepts. Strong observational skills to assess patient movement and progress accurately. Adept at managing various patient personalities and adapting approaches to individual needs. Preferred Experience While a minimum of two years of related experience is required, we prefer candidates with a background in orthopedic outpatient settings. Familiarity with home health care models and experience providing therapy in patients' homes will be advantageous.
