Job Description

Encompass Health is seeking a Physical Therapist to deliver compassionate, evidence-based rehabilitation care in our inpatient post-acute setting. You will evaluate patients recovering from major illnesses and injuries, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide hands-on therapy to restore mobility, function, and independence. Working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team, you'll educate patients and families, document progress, and contribute to clinical excellence and quality initiatives. Responsibilities Deliver evidence-based physical therapy to post-acute and rehab patients Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans and goals Collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehab team to optimize outcomes Educate patients and families on exercises, mobility, and safety Document assessments, progress notes, and discharge plans accurately Participate in quality improvement, clinical excellence, and safety initiatives Supervise and mentor therapy assistants or support staff as appropriate Contribute to a patient-centered, compassionate care environment Required Skills Physical therapy evaluation and treatment planning Inpatient rehabilitation techniques Therapeutic exercise and functional mobility training Neurologic and orthopedic rehabilitation interventions Patient and family education Interdisciplinary team collaboration Clinical documentation and EMR proficiency Safety, fall prevention, and transfer techniques Outcome measurement and progress tracking Time management in a fast-paced clinical setting
