Physical Therapist - Golf Performance IMPACT Health & Performance | Urbandale, Iowa Full-Time | $75,000-$80,000/year IMPACT Health & Performance is looking for a full-time Physical Therapist to join our growing golf rehabilitation and performance practice in Urbandale, Iowa. This is not a traditional high-volume outpatient physical therapy position. Our practice combines orthopedic physical therapy, golf-specific movement assessment, strength and conditioning, performance testing, and golf swing analysis to help golfers feel better, move better, and play better. The right candidate will work one-on-one with golfers in both rehabilitation and performance settings while becoming an important part of a small, growing team. What Makes This Position Different At IMPACT, you'll have the opportunity to: Work one-on-one with clients rather than managing a high-volume caseload Work extensively with golfers ranging from recreational players to competitive junior, collegiate, and high-level adult golfers Combine rehabilitation with strength, performance, and long-term wellness Regularly use technology including a Foresight GCQuad launch monitor, Swing Catalyst dual force plates, video and swing analysis, and performance-testing equipment Collaborate directly with golf performance coaches Develop a specialty within golf rehabilitation and performance Build meaningful long-term relationships with clients Help shape the continued growth of a specialized golf performance practice Responsibilities The Golf Performance Physical Therapist will: Perform comprehensive orthopedic and golf performance evaluations Develop individualized rehabilitation and performance programs Provide one-on-one physical therapy treatment Assess mobility, strength, power, motor control, and other physical characteristics that may influence the golf swing Help clients progress from rehabilitation into strength and performance Utilize launch monitor, force plate, swing analysis, and performance-testing data when appropriate Collaborate with our golf performance coaches Educate clients on movement, injury prevention, and long-term performance Build strong relationships with clients, golf professionals, physicians, and other referral partners Contribute to the continued growth and development of IMPACT Health & Performance Compensation and Benefits Base salary of $75,000-$80,000 , depending on experience and qualifications $500 monthly benefits allowance ($6,000 annually) paid through payroll as taxable compensation and available for the employee to use at their discretion, including toward health insurance or other personal benefit needs Performance-based bonus opportunities Bonus structure developed after approximately six months of employment with input from the Physical Therapist 401(k) with employer match of up to 3.5% 80 hours of paid time off 7 paid holidays Professional liability insurance provided Continuing education reimbursement considered on a case-by-case basis for approved golf-specific, manual therapy, orthopedic, and performance-related education TPI Level 1 Certification may be paid for if the candidate does not already hold the certification Schedule This is a full-time Monday through Friday position. Working hours will generally fall between approximately 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with flexibility in how the weekly schedule is structured. Anticipated start date is between September 28 and October 26, 2026.
Qualifications Required:
Doctor of Physical Therapy degree Licensed or eligible for Physical Therapy licensure in Iowa Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong clinical reasoning Interest in orthopedic rehabilitation, sports performance, and working with active individuals Desire to continue learning and developing professionally Team-oriented mindset
Preferred:
TPI certification Personal or professional background in golf Experience with golfers or rotational athletes Sports or orthopedic physical therapy experience Strength and conditioning experience Manual therapy experience Dry needling certification or experience TPI certification and an extensive golf background are preferred but are not required for the right candidate. More important is a genuine interest in learning the game, understanding the physical demands of the golf swing, and becoming an excellent golf performance physical therapist.
