9620952-60504 Job Description Make a meaningful impact as a Physical Therapist supporting students with special needs in a dynamic school environment. Working onsite, youll collaborate with educators to deliver targeted, educationally relevant physical therapy to a diverse group of students, including a significant focus on Transition-aged young adults (ages 2022). This is a contract assignment, ideal for professionals seeking a rewarding, short-term opportunity during the fall.
Key Experience & Qualifications:
Possession of current Illinois Physical Therapy Licensure. Demonstrated pediatric experience. Prior experience working within school settings. Ability to work effectively with a broad range of age groups, especially Transition-aged students. Strong collaborative skills for working as part of an educational team. Excellent communication, adaptability, and organizational abilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assess and address gross motor skill deficits among students, developing tailored intervention plans. Design and implement strategies to help students acquire or compensate for physical limitations, supporting their educational participation. Document student progress and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers and special education staff. Communicate effectively with families and staff to optimize student outcomes. Adhere to all district and professional guidelines for school-based therapy practice. This contract position offers predictable weekly hours (37.5 per week) and an engaging daily routine, from August 17 through November 4.
