Job Description

DPT Physical Therapy & Fitness is looking for a motivated and compassionate Performance & Aquatic Physical Therapist to join our new West Bloomfield clinic. This location will be based inside a large, active fitness facility, giving the therapist access to full gym equipment, training space, and a large indoor pool with lift access for aquatic therapy patients. For over 9 years, we've built our practice around one simple idea: patients deserve real, individualized attention from a Doctor of Physical Therapy, not a rotation of aides and assistants. If you're looking for a clinic where you can actually practice the way you were trained to, we'd love to talk. About Us We're an outpatient physical therapy practice currently serving the Berkley and Bloomfield Hills communities, and we're expanding into West Bloomfield with a clinic designed around movement, performance, and long-term wellness. Our team is tight-knit, collaborative, and genuinely supportive of one another, and our owner is a practicing PT who works alongside the clinical team rather than just overseeing it from an office. This role is ideal for a clinician whose own lifestyle aligns with health, fitness, strength training, and movement. You'll be working in an environment surrounded by people actively training, exercising, and investing in their wellness. For the right therapist, this is more than a clinic job - it's an opportunity to practice in a setting that reflects the way you live. Responsibilities Evaluate and treat patients in both land-based and aquatic therapy settings Develop and implement personalized, evidence-based treatment plans Use the full fitness facility, including gym equipment and training space, to progress patients through functional strength and performance-based rehab Provide aquatic therapy in a large indoor pool with lift access Treat orthopedic, sports, post-surgical, balance, chronic pain, and general rehab patients Progress patients through mobility, strength, return-to-activity, and performance-focused programming Educate patients on their condition, home programs, injury prevention, and long-term wellness Maintain accurate and timely documentation Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care Qualifications Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution Current Michigan state licensure as a Physical Therapist, or eligibility to obtain Interest or experience in aquatic therapy Interest or experience in sports rehab, performance training, orthopedics, or active adult care Personal passion for fitness, training, health, and movement Strong clinical skills and a solid foundation in physical therapy principles and practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work confidently and independently in a new clinic environment while still collaborating with the broader team New graduates with the right attitude and clinical interest are encouraged to apply Preferred But Not Required Aquatic therapy experience or certification Sports, orthopedic, manual therapy, or strength and conditioning background Experience working with athletes or active adults What We Offer True 1-on-1 treatment times, so you can focus fully on your patients instead of juggling multiple people at once Competitive salary Full access to gym equipment, training space, and a large indoor pool with lift access Medical and dental benefits available Yearly paid CEU credits to support your continued growth Mentorship from senior staff, including hands-on guidance from our owner A supportive, collaborative, and genuinely enjoyable work environment Real opportunities for professional development and advancement as our practice grows If you're looking for a clinic where you can build real relationships with your patients, keep learning, and grow your career in an environment centered around fitness, performance, aquatic therapy, and long-term wellness, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and let's talk about what it looks like to join DPT Physical Therapy & Fitness.
