Position Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship Required Entry-level physical therapists must be graduates of a physical therapy program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education or from a college or university approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). CAPTE-accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education-Active State License (any U.S. state) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Minimum of Two Years of Experience within the last three years as a physical therapist
Key Responsibilities:
As a Physical Therapist in this role, you will: Assess patients for physical deficits and functional limitations. Develop individualized treatment plans to enhance mobility, strength, and overall well-being. Utilize data-driven techniques to create effective therapy programs. Apply therapy techniques tailored to each Veteran's unique condition. Recommend & Evaluate adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs, canes, and braces. Provide specialized physical therapy treatments, including: Therapeutic exercises Neuromuscular re-education Gait analysis and training Functional activity training Pain prevention and management Adaptive equipment assessment and prescription Electric modalities (hot/cold packs) Wound and lymphedema care Pelvic health therapy Aquatic therapy Wheelchair seating and positioning
