r46930-11746 Job Description Qualifications Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Bachelors/Masters degree in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE-accredited program Active New York State Physical Therapist license and current registration issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) Office of the Professions Minimum of 2+ years of experience (school-based and/or teletherapy preferred) Familiarity with
NYSED IEP
processes, Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, and school-based gross motor evaluations Strong clinical reasoning, organizational, and communication skills Comfortable navigating telepractice platforms, digital therapy tools, and remote communication systems Key Responsibilities Assessment & Intervention Conduct virtual evaluations to assess gross motor functioning, postural control, functional mobility, and physical accessibility within educational settings Develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans aligned with IEP objectives in a remote format Deliver direct teletherapy services focused on educational, functional mobility goals and monitor student progress Use objective clinical data to guide decision-making and adjust gross motor intervention strategies Collaboration & Support Work closely with general and special education teachers, CSE teams, parents, administrators, and support staff Provide practical recommendations for classroom positioning, adaptive equipment, and gross motor carryover strategies Participate actively in virtual

meetings, multidisciplinary evaluation reviews, and Section 504 conferences Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate and timely documentation of direct service logs, session notes, and IEP goal updates (e.g., SESIS / state-approved systems) Ensure all evaluations and therapeutic services strictly comply with NYSED Part 200 regulations, district policies, and IDEA mandates Complete comprehensive evaluation summaries, eligibility documentation, and required state compliance reports Technology & Teletherapy Tools Utilize virtual platforms and interactive digital tools to deliver engaging, movement-based therapy sessions Adapt physical exercises, visual modeling guides, and activity modifications for an effective online learning environment Guide onsite school facilitators and families during remote sessions and assist with basic platform troubleshooting Advocacy & Education Support students in accessing appropriate physical accommodations, adaptive devices, and assistive mobility tools Provide educational resources, training, and guidance to school personnel and families on pediatric physical development and environmental accessibility Benefits & Compensation 1099 Independent Contractor Status Available for FT or PT schedules Compensation for both
