Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a fulfilling role supporting students' growth as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a dynamic school environment near Spencerport, NY. This contract opportunity runs from late April through the end of June, making it ideal for those seeking a long-term substitute position for the current school year. You'll work three days each week, providing care across two campuses and predominantly assisting students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Your expertise will help children develop vital motor skills while partnering closely with supervising PTs and dedicated educators.
Qualifications and Experience:
Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in New York State Prior experience in school-based or pediatric physical therapy environments preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with young children, teachers, and families Ability to travel between two nearby locations as assigned Familiarity with IEPs and individualized care plans a plus
Your Responsibilities:
Deliver physical therapy services as directed by the supervising PT, primarily to K-5 students Support implementation of tailored therapy interventions, adapting approaches as needed for diverse student needs Document progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with school and state requirements Communicate effectively with staff and families about student progress and therapy goals Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to student care This position offers the chance to make a real impact during a key stretch of the school year, with a predictable part-time schedule.
