Job Overview:
The Physical Therapist Assistant will support licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual patient needs. You will perform clinical assessments, document progress, and deliver therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and other modalities aligned with the treatment plan.
Responsibilities:
Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Perform clinical assessments and document progress using electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring adherence to clinical documentation standards. Deliver therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and other modalities aligned with the treatment plan. Operate and manage medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions. Monitor patient responses during treatment, adjusting techniques as necessary to optimize outcomes. Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, and discharge instructions to promote ongoing recovery at home or in community settings. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Assist with discharge planning by providing detailed reports on patient progress and ongoing needs. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations by maintaining accurate medical documentation and adhering to confidentiality standards.
Qualifications:
Valid licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience or familiarity with diverse clinical settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, geriatrics, pediatrics, or skilled nursing facilities. Strong knowledge of physiotherapy techniques, including manual therapy, orthopedics, and geriatrics care. Proficiency in medical terminology, clinical assessment documentation, and medical equipment operation. Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) management systems for accurate documentation of patient care activities. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members, demonstrating excellent caregiver communication.
