The Physical Therapist will work closely with students, educators, and families to improve students' functional mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and physical access to the educational environment. The therapist will evaluate students, develop individualized treatment plans, provide direct intervention, collaborate with IEP teams, and support student participation in school through evidence-based physical therapy practices. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for students. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with each student's educational goals. Provide direct physical therapy services in individual and small-group settings. Address gross motor development, mobility, gait, balance, strength, coordination, endurance, posture, and functional movement skills. Recommend adaptive equipment, positioning devices, mobility aids, and environmental modifications to maximize student participation. Collaborate with teachers to implement classroom-based strategies that support student mobility and independence. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to educational planning. Complete timely documentation and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations. Consult with parents, caregivers, teachers, and school staff regarding student progress and home carryover activities. Maintain accurate records and complete Medicaid documentation when applicable. Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Special Education Teachers, School Psychologists, and school administration. Provide supervision to Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) in accordance with Arizona law and company policy. Qualifications Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program. Current Arizona Physical Therapist license (or eligibility for licensure). Current CPR certification preferred. Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (or ability to obtain). School-based pediatric experience preferred but not required. Knowledge of
IDEA, IEP
processes, and special education regulations is preferred. Experience working with children with developmental disabilities, orthopedic conditions, neurological disorders, and mobility impairments is highly desirable. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.
