Position Overview Resurge Rehab & Therapy is seeking a dedicated and licensed Physical Therapist to join our dynamic rehabilitation team in Ashburn, Virginia. In this full-time role, you will provide essential therapy services that enhance patient recovery and improve quality of life. As a Physical Therapist in our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility, you will have the opportunity to work onsite to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic. Key Responsibilities As a Physical Therapist at Resurge Rehab & Therapy, your responsibilities will include: Conducting comprehensive evaluations of residents to identify their physical therapy needs and develop individualized treatment plans that align with each patient's goals. Providing targeted physical therapy interventions that aim to enhance residents' strength, balance, mobility, and overall functional independence. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, nursing staff, and physicians, to create interdisciplinary care plans and ensure consistency in therapy approaches. Educating patients and their caregivers about therapy goals, exercises, and injury prevention strategies, fostering a supportive environment for rehabilitation. Documenting all treatments and services rendered according to state, federal, and facility standards to maintain compliance and track patient progress. Participating in discharge planning by assessing patient functional outcomes and recommending necessary equipment and follow-up services to facilitate successful transitions. Patient Population / Client Focus Your primary focus will be on elderly patients within our skilled nursing facility who are recovering from surgical procedures, managing chronic health conditions, or those in need of rehabilitation following acute illnesses or injuries. Passion for geriatric rehabilitation and understanding the unique challenges faced by this population will be crucial to your success in this role. We prioritize patient dignity and aim to empower our residents through therapy, ensuring they receive the best possible care tailored to their needs. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program (DPT or MPT). A valid Virginia Physical Therapist license or eligibility to obtain one. Current CPR certification or the willingness to obtain it shortly after employment. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members. Preferred Experience A minimum of 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation hospital, or geriatric setting is preferred. Demonstrated experience in assessing and treating individuals with diverse rehabilitation needs. Ability to apply critical thinking and time management skills effectively in a clinical setting. A deep understanding and respect for the elderly population and their specific rehabilitation goals.
