As a Physical Therapist, you will work in a clinical setting equipped with the latest rehabilitation technologies and resources. Your typical work schedule will be Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, empowering you to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough evaluations of residents to identify mobility issues, pain levels, and functional limitations, developing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. Provide targeted physical therapy treatments focusing on enhancing strength, balance, mobility, and overall functional independence, utilizing evidence-based practices and modalities. Collaborate with occupational therapists, speech therapists, nursing staff, and physicians to create a comprehensive, interdisciplinary care plan aimed at holistic patient recovery. Educate patients and their caregivers about therapy goals, therapeutic exercises for home practice, and strategies for injury prevention to foster safe recovery at home. Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions and progress in accordance with state and federal regulations, ensuring compliance with all facility standards. Assist in discharge planning by assessing functional outcomes and making recommendations regarding necessary follow-up services or adaptive equipment. Patient Population / Client Focus This position primarily serves geriatric patients who may be facing challenges related to chronic health conditions, post-surgical recovery, or age-related decline. Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program, with preference given to candidates with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). Possession of a valid Virginia Physical Therapist license or eligibility to obtain one. Current CPR certification or the willingness to obtain it as part of your professional development. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Preferred Experience A minimum of two years of experience providing physical therapy services in skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation hospitals, or geriatrics is preferred. A solid understanding of evidence-based practices in physical rehabilitation for older adults, including familiarity with assistive devices and therapeutic modalities. Experience working with patients recovering from complex medical procedures or those with multi-faceted rehabilitation needs. Compensation and Benefits Resurge Rehab & Therapy offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary ranging from $90,000 to $120,000 commensurate with experience.
