This is a Per Diem position with a flexible schedule that includes working some weekends. Why Downey Post Acute? Extremely rewarding opportunity to work within Post-Acute Care! We truly value our residents and our colleagues! We are a 99-bed Post-Acute Skilled Nursing Facility located in Downey, CA and specialize in short term rehabilitation! Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and patient-focused Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. Under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will assist in implementing treatment plans, helping patients improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore functional abilities. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering high-quality care and creating a positive patient experience. Responsibilities Implement treatment programs developed by the Physical Therapist. Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and mobility programs. Monitor patient progress and accurately document treatments and outcomes. Educate patients and families on prescribed exercises and treatment goals. Communicate patient status and concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist. Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies in a safe and organized manner. Adhere to all regulatory, compliance, and safety standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to support patient care goals. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current California Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing. Current CPR/BLS certification. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with patients of diverse ages and backgrounds. Preferred One or more years of clinical experience in outpatient, inpatient, SNF, or home health settings. Experience with Net Health and PCC. Bilingual skills preferred. Work Environment Works in resident areas, office areas and throughout the facility. Moves intermittently during working hours. Is subject to frequent interruptions. Works beyond normal working hours on weekends and holidays, when necessary. Subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.). Subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, visitors, or others.
Other Hourly Rate:
$38.00 - $45.00 per hour
