Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to implement treatment plans for patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions. Your primary focus will be on providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including home health, clinics, and rehabilitation facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, along with experience in physical therapy techniques. Responsibilities Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients. Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy, and modalities as directed by the therapist. Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising therapist. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies. Participate in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition for patients returning home or to other care settings. Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes in orthopedics and geriatrics. Requirements Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to physical therapy practices. Experience in home health settings is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with discharge planning processes is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages. A commitment to providing high-quality patient care and improving patient outcomes.
