Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care through skilled physical therapy interventions. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with licensed physical therapists, healthcare professionals, and patients in skilled nursing facilities. Your expertise will help improve mobility, reduce pain, and promote recovery for patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Duties Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Perform therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy, and modalities to support patient recovery. Monitor and document patient progress accurately in accordance with clinical documentation standards and electronic health records (EHR) management protocols. Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions, ensuring proper usage and maintenance. Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers to explain treatment procedures, goals, and discharge instructions. Collaborate with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists to optimize patient outcomes. Contribute to discharge planning by assessing patient progress and recommending appropriate next steps for continued care or home transition. Experience Prior experience working in outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient hospital units, or home health settings is desirable but not mandatory. Demonstrated proficiency in physical therapy treatment implementation across diverse populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, and acute care patients. Hands-on experience with manual therapy techniques including trigger point therapy and physiotherapy modalities. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical assessment documentation standards is essential. Familiarity with medical documentation practices related to physical therapy documentation and clinical assessment records. Experience operating medical equipment used in physical therapy treatments and managing electronic health records (EHR). Strong communication skills for effective caregiver and client interaction; ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
