Compensation:
$12.00 per hour Position Summary The Physical Therapy Technician provides clinical and administrative support to licensed physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and front office staff in an outpatient physical therapy clinic. This position assists with patient flow, clinic operations, equipment preparation, housekeeping, and administrative tasks to help ensure an efficient, clean, and welcoming environment for patients. The Physical Therapy Technician does not perform evaluations, develop treatment plans, or provide skilled physical therapy services requiring clinical judgment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Patient & Clinical Support Escort patients to treatment areas as directed. Prepare treatment rooms and equipment prior to patient appointments. Apply hot packs, cold packs, and other non-skilled modalities as directed by a licensed therapist. Assist with therapeutic modalities and treatment equipment as directed by a licensed therapist (including INDIBA® and similar technologies), consistent with clinic policies. Assist patients with basic activities as directed by a licensed therapist. Observe patients during treatment and immediately report any concerns to the supervising therapist. Clean and disinfect treatment tables, equipment, and exercise areas between patients. Clinic Operations Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinic environment. Perform laundry, fold towels, and restock linens throughout the clinic. Stock treatment rooms and maintain therapy supplies. Organize exercise equipment and maintain general cleanliness. Assist with opening and closing clinic procedures. Administrative Support Answer incoming telephone calls and direct them appropriately. Schedule and confirm patient appointments. Assist patients with check-in and check-out as needed. Scan, file, and organize clinic documents. Support front desk staff during busy periods. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements. General Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and coworkers. Follow all clinic safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies. Attend required staff meetings and training. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Interest in healthcare, physical therapy, kinesiology, athletic training, or related field preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Dependable, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team. Physical Requirements Frequently stand and walk throughout the workday. Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds. Bend, kneel, squat, reach, and perform repetitive movements. Safely move and organize therapy equipment. Maintain an active work pace for extended periods. Schedule Hourly, non-exempt position. Part-time, scheduled up to 32 hours per week. Hours vary based on clinic needs and may include mornings, afternoons, or evenings.
