Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, performs treatments and provides exercise instruction and demonstration for patients. Assists the Physical Therapist during patient testing, evaluations and complex procedures. Carries out a program of corrective exercise and treatment for assigned patients. Instructs patients on segments of the program, including proper use of wheelchairs, crutches, canes, braces and prosthetic appliances and devices.Essential Job Functions:
- Provides patient care under the direction of a Physical Therapist, including implementing treatment programs and patient/family teaching.
- Documents patient records, billing procedures, and productivity management records according to protocol.
- Promotes team approach in patient care and participates in discharge planning activities.
- Provides staff training and participates in department tasks and continuing education.
- Performs other duties and special projects as required.
