Job Description

Step into an impactful contract opportunity supporting students in a collaborative, educational environment just outside of Springfield, MA. This urgent Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) backfill is for the 2026-2027 school year, offering the chance to make meaningful connections with students while working a manageable schedule. As a contracted PTA, you will collaborate closely with educators and related service professionals, ensuring that every child receives the physical therapy support they need to thrive. This position begins immediately and continues through late June 2027, with a weekly commitment of 6 hours. The work setting fosters a supportive and inclusive atmosphere focused on student development and growth.
Required Qualifications:
Active Massachusetts state PTA licensure. Prior experience or knowledge of working with school-aged children is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students, staff, and families. Ability to work independently and contribute positively to a multidisciplinary team. Dedication to delivering compassionate, student-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement treatment plans designed by supervising physical therapists. Work directly with students, guiding and supporting them through prescribed activities. Accurately document services and progress in accordance with district requirements. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other school staff to ensure coordinated support for each student. Participate in meetings as needed to discuss student progress and adjust plans accordingly.
