Job Description
Physical Therapist Assistant
Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide supportive rehabilitation services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will assist patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence while providing safe, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, stretching, strengthening, balance, and mobility activities.
- Perform treatments and modalities according to the established plan of care.
- Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, and use of therapeutic or assistive equipment.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes, concerns, or adverse responses to the Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and caregivers on prescribed exercises and safe mobility techniques.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment.
- Document treatments, patient responses, and progress accurately and timely.
- Follow infection control, safety, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists and other healthcare professionals to support patient goals.
Qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license or certification as required by the state.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Previous clinical experience preferred.
- Knowledge of therapeutic exercises, rehabilitation techniques, and patient mobility practices.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow treatment plans and work effectively under the direction of a Physical Therapist.
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach and strong attention to detail.
Pay Rate
$41.28 - $46.16/hour
