Job Description
PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT
Job Summary:
- Responsible for providing direct patient care in acute care, sub-acute and/or outpatient settings. Efficiently deliver comprehensive physical therapy services to a diverse population his/her practice setting(s). Completes all required documentation, assists in scheduling and attends interdisciplinary rounds/committee meetings as assigned.
Education:
- Must possess a degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
Registration/Certification/Licensure:
- Must possess a current license from the Maryland Board of Physical Therapy.
Experience:
- Must demonstrate competence to provide physical rehabilitation services by reason of education, training and experience.
Other Requirements:
- Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
- Required to lift and/or move more than 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with modified lifting device.
- Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions that drive an appropriate plan of care.
- CPR required within 30 days of hire.
