Job Description

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) The Maples - Benzie County Medical Care Facility Frankfort, Michigan The Maples is looking for a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team! This is a great opportunity for a PTA who enjoys working with older adults, values teamwork, and wants to make a meaningful difference in residents' mobility, independence, and overall quality of life. As a PTA at The Maples, you'll work alongside our Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary care team to provide individualized therapy services in a supportive skilled nursing environment. What You'll Do Provide physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist Carry out individualized treatment plans designed to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence Assist residents with gait training, transfer training, therapeutic exercise, and other functional activities Monitor resident response to treatment and communicate changes in condition or progress to the Physical Therapist Document treatments, resident progress, and other required information accurately and timely Educate and encourage residents throughout the rehabilitation process Collaborate with nursing, therapy, restorative, social services, and other members of the interdisciplinary team Promote resident safety and help identify opportunities to maximize independence Participate in care planning and discharge planning as appropriate Follow all facility policies, infection-control practices, safety standards, and applicable state and federal requirements What We're Looking For Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program Current or eligible Michigan PTA license Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team Compassion, patience, and a genuine interest in working with older adults Strong organizational and documentation skills Skilled nursing or long-term care experience is a plus, but not required Why The Maples?
