Job Description

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) — Inpatient Rehabilitation Help Patients Regain Independence. Build a Rewarding Career. Methodist Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a compassionate, motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced clinicians and new graduates who are passionate about helping patients recover, regain function, and achieve greater independence. As a PTA, you will work closely with Physical Therapists and an interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide high-quality therapy services to patients with a wide range of diagnoses, injuries, and functional needs. Job Responsibilities Provide Physical Therapy services to patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist. Assist the Physical Therapist in developing and implementing appropriate treatment plans designed to promote optimal patient outcomes. Provide therapeutic interventions based on individual patient goals, needs, and abilities. Communicate regularly with the Physical Therapist regarding patient progress, therapy goals, treatment plans, and discharge recommendations. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that may include physicians, nurse practitioners, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Monitor and document patient response to treatment and communicate changes in patient status to the appropriate members of the care team. Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills while working effectively in a dynamic rehabilitation environment. Educate and encourage patients throughout their rehabilitation journey. Provide compassionate care that motivates and inspires patients to work toward greater independence and recovery. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Schedule PRN - As Needed Education Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program . Licensure Current, valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the State of Mississippi , or eligibility for Mississippi licensure. Certification Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross . Experience New graduates are welcome to apply! Clinical experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, or outpatient settings is preferred but not required.
