$67,000-$70,000 per year Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager The Quality Assurance Supervisor oversees daily QA activities in a frozen prepared meals manufacturing facility. This position supervises QA staff, supports food safety programs, and ensures products meet company quality standards and applicable USDA and FDA requirements. Key Responsibilities Supervise, train, and coach QA technicians and coordinate daily assignments. Verify compliance with GMPs, sanitation procedures, HACCP plans, and prerequisite programs. Review ingredient verification, allergen controls, labels, lot codes, expiration dates, and case labels for accuracy. Monitor production checks, including temperatures, portion weights, packaging integrity, and metal detection. Review QA and production records for accuracy and completeness before product release. Identify nonconforming products, initiate holds, and coordinate disposition with the QA Manager. Investigate customer complaints and food safety concerns; document corrective and preventive actions. Support environmental monitoring, inspections, internal audits, SQF preparation, and mock recalls. Communicate food safety and quality concerns promptly to production, maintenance, and management. Ensure employees follow documentation requirements and report issues accurately. Qualifications Previous quality assurance or food safety experience in food manufacturing. Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, sanitation, allergen controls, and
USDA/FDA
requirements. HACCP certification preferred; SQF experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to review records, use computer systems, and work closely with production teams. Working Conditions Work includes time on the production floor and in refrigerated or frozen areas. Must follow required PPE and hygiene practices and be available to work scheduled production shifts, including weekends as needed.
