We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join a school-based therapy team serving students in the Portales, NM area. This is a rewarding opportunity to help children improve their mobility, independence, and participation in the school environment while collaborating with educators, therapists, and families. Responsibilities Provide physical therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Implement individualized treatment plans and therapy goals. Assist students in developing gross motor skills, mobility, balance, strength, and functional independence. Document therapy sessions and student progress in accordance with district and state guidelines. Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families to support student success. Participate in IEP meetings as requested. Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe treatment environment. Qualifications Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current New Mexico PTA license (or eligibility for licensure). Current CPR certification (preferred). Previous pediatric or school-based experience is a plus, but new graduates are encouraged to apply. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
