Responsible for performing medically approved physical therapy programs for treatment of musculo-skeletal defects and neuromuscular diseases and problems to restore function, relieve pain and prevent disability keeping in mind patient age, development and mental status. The Physical Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.

MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS
Licensed in the State of Ohio through Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board of Ohio. BLS No written disciplinary action within the last 12 months.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Employee in this position may be exposed to blood, body fluids and/or airborne pathogens and is required to wear barriers. Denotes ADA Essential Follows Appropriate Service Standards
POSITION EXPECTATIONS
Executes patient treatments properly, safely and appropriately taking in to consideration patients' age, mental status and educational level. Displays flexibility and makes adjustments to the present treatment plan in order to best benefit the patient. Develops appropriate home exercise programs and effectively instructs patient and/or family. Maintains all documentation clearly according to standards, in a timely manner. Assists in maintaining work areas in a neat, orderly fashion and assists with stocking supplies as needed. Assists with changing linen on plinths and carts, and prepares them for future use as needed. Actively participates in Hospital or Physical Therapy Department committees, staff meetings and in-service programs. Maintains professional journals / newsletters and from attending appropriate professinal meetings. Participates in at least one education course each year.
